At 50 Deeds of Love, our mission is to work with underprivileged individuals and communities worldwide, to eliminate hunger, bring sustainable relief to the distressed, advance education and healthcare facilities, while minimizing our carbon foot-print. Our initiatives offer empowerment without damaging cultural assets or creating harmful dependencies.
For me, it all started a couple years back with an eruption of a magnitude proportional to an earthquake having have had a personal awakening at the top of a Himalayan summit in Nepal.
As a student of Life having had traveled on my own journey of transformation, I have had learned that you don’t get what you want in life, you get what you belive in.
In 2016 – I created the “The Year of Forty” during which I celebrated life, health, vitality, friendship and family by giving back to the less fortunate and to acknowledge the special place where my reinvented life journey had commenced – Nepal. In 2016 I ran three half -marathons: Miami, Boulder, Chicago, one full marathon: San Francisco; and climbed Pacharmo Peak – 6,273m (20,581 ft) in Nepal and I raised over $6000.00.
And that was just the beginning. Since then I had two knee surgeries, run 8 half marathons, 6 full marathons, climbed 5summits, and I am not planning to stop any time soon....
Since I have started “The Year of Forty” initiative – more than three years have passed. I believe I have smartened up just a bit (I guess the “number” obliges – at least seemingly so) and treat my body more respectfully, I am stronger than ever and ready to conquer the “Decade of Forty” with establishing the ”50 Deeds of LOVE "charitable foundation.
I feel grateful and satisfied with the presence of my strong “why” which continues to prove to be a profound motivator and accelerator when it appears I am running in the “reserve mode” without an option to refuel or hitting a cul-de-sac.
Many ask me “Why do you do what you do?
See, when it comes to matter of running and climbing, I divide people into two types: Those I don’t’ need to explain my passion to, and others who would never understand it. I love doing extraordinary things. I love to challenge myself and to compete with my biggest and only rival – my inner critic and saboteur. I love to break the status quo and do things you can only achieve through commitments and dedication. To taste the victory of my passion in pain of the sore legs, sleepless nights in the high altitude, unconditional smiles of lives touched making Impossible possible. I love to visit unusual places to see ordinary and exceptional mixed together. Far away from the noise of busy-land. Behind the complexity and busyness of the modern world. To disappear in the simplicity of the hills and valleys, dissolving in the energy of earth and fragrance of the nature, tapping into the innocence of the sunrise and wisdom of the sunset. To feel the feelings many refuse to reach for……
Over the next 10 years I am going to participate in at least 50 big/crazy climbs and/or races/challenge events over the world to raise money to pay my deeds back.
There is no action that is too small to make a difference.
